Tournaments
Open Division:
The 1st event of the year will be seeded based on the information that is supplied to us from the club directors. The next 4 events will have the top teams in power pools with all the other teams seeded snake style. We will always try to de-conflict teams from the same club and teams that you have played in previous events when not in a power pool. The number of power pools and teams involved will vary from event to event. Power pool teams will be awarded an additional 15 points for competing against tougher competition. With the exception of the power pools, there is no difference in playing in the am or pm pools. In the final event of the season you will play teams of similar ability. The top pool(s) that will be competing for the season long points battle for the perpetual trophy will have their point total reset to zero and the pool winner of the final event will be the champion. The goal of these events is to have diversity in competition and to create a fun and competitive environment.
Club Division:
The 1st event of the year will be seeded based on the information that is supplied to us from the club directors. The next 4 events will have equal pools playing different teams (top half, bottom half). The goal of this division is to have kids learn the game of volleyball and have success as they learn. This division will have a more lenient set of rules that will encourage success. In the final event of the season top 4 teams in points will play in a pool then the next 4 and so on.
The Volley-Fest organizers will make every effort to separate teams from the same club in all tournaments.
All of our events will provide, one referee per court. Teams will provide 2 lines people. The facility will open 45 minutes before morning wave begins play. If you are in a P.M. pool please don’t arrive to the gym until 45 minutes prior to your start time so we can get the morning session cleaned up.
